I enjoyed the movie though I don't believe in a pre-tribulation rapture. I think if it weren't for a high profile actor like Nicolas Cage, it might not have the same draw. It was fast paced and shows the varied responses people would have to such an event; I thought it interesting that they even included a pastor left behind.
For someone who isn't familiar with the "rapture" (a word never used in the movie), I think they would come away with a lot of questions. The only Scripture used is at the very end where Mark 13:32 is flashed on the screen, "But of that day and hour no one knows." So, I thought the meaning of the rapture was rather vague. But the movie could be a great conversation piece in which one who knows the Word could have an opportunity to explain it.
It is wonderful that there are so many Christian and inspirational movies being produced right now. We saw several previews of more coming soon. I see it as part of God's grace to help alert people. We should pray that God would use "Left Behind" to draw people to the truth, and that they would not dismiss it as just another entertaining flick.
