FOR NEW BELIEVERS OR
BELIEVERS WHO HAVE NEVER BEEN TAUGHT THE BASICS
This 38-page, 6-week training manual teaches a believer the basic foundations of biblical truths needed to ground them in their faith. Though an individual can use it on their own, it is best used with a teacher or mentor as part of a church's discipleship program. Each lesson includes a daily assignment to practice the spiritual disciplines taught each week. If followed, this course can establish a great foundation and beginning for a life-time of growing as a Christian.

Persecution is rarely taught in the Church but is a normal part of Christian life. How do we endure it? Learn from valuable lessons the persecuted Church around the world has taught us.
TO THE STUDENT
You may not realize that as soon as you gave your heart to Jesus, you became a soldier in God’s army. Your enemy is the devil, and he will never give up trying to get you back on his side. Like any soldier in a war zone, you need to be armed for battle in order to survive. This course is designed to equip you to stand against anything the devil throws at you. With this training, the Holy Spirit in you, and your church family behind and beside you, you will grow into a soldier that the devil won’t want to mess with!
Any training requires commitment and discipline. 2 Timothy 2:15 says, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” To “be diligent” can be translated study, work hard, or do your best. You may be one who does not like to study or even read, but Jews consider study a form of worship. We should too!
Studying honors God. Ask Him for grace to start new disciplines as you advance and grow in your Christian walk, and the Holy Spirit, Who is your teacher, will help you to enjoy reading and studying.
TO CHURCHES FOR YOUR DISCIPLESHIP PROGRAM
This course is only six weeks long because most students haven’t yet gained the discipline needed for lengthier studies. However, these six lessons cover the basics any Christian needs to start a relationship with the Lord. Because it’s short, a student can feel accomplished and be encouraged upon completing the study to go on to further studies.
Though this manual can be used without a teacher, it is best used in a class setting that is part of a church’s discipleship program or one-on-one with a teacher/mentor. In a class setting, the teacher teaches the lesson material within the manual, but an assigned spiritually mature mentor calls the student every week, prays with them, answers questions about the lesson and helps with Scripture memory, sees that the student finishes all six lessons, and is responsible for any make-up classes needed.
According to the spiritual maturity of the student, it may be necessary for the mentor to continue contact after the class is over to encourage the student to continue to use the spiritual disciplines learned in the class. This course should be used only as a starting place for a church discipleship program.
All teaching points are fully supported with Scripture references, but some (i.e., baptism or the Holy Spirit) may not line up with certain denominational doctrines, so church leaders should read through the manual before choosing to use it. Suggested donation: $5. For large orders for churches, the name/church logo can be added on the title page. Proceeds support work in Africa & Israel.
