After President Biden's visit to Israel on Wednesday, October 18, Dr. Gadi Taub wrote a summary of what was accomplished on that visit. Who is Gadi Taub?
He is an Israeli historian, author, screenwriter and political commentator. He is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Public Policy and the Department of Communications at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He earned his Ph. D. in American History from Rutgers University. He writes about Zionism, Liberalism, and Psychoanalytic Theory. He is an op-ed columnist for Haaretz (Israeli news agency) and a regular contributor on politics and culture on Israeli radio and television. He is known in Israel for his criticism of postmodernism and post-Zionism.
He wrote the following, which was posted on Amir Tsarfati's telegram (a good source for daily news on the war):
So to sum up Biden's visit:
- Israel must not give Hezbollah a preemptive blow.
- It is forbidden to occupy the strip.
- We were warned against harming civilians.
- Biden forced the introduction of "humanitarian aid", and loosened the pressure of the blockade.
- The US will give $100 million in aid to the Strip.
- Six billion dollars to Iran were not frozen.
- The administration will continue to claim that there is "no direct evidence" of Iranian involvement in the attack, thus protecting the continuation of its disastrous policy in the IDF from American public opinion.
- The position of the United States is that the majority of Palestinians who voted for Hamas do not really support it.
- Biden reiterated his belief in the two-state solution.
On the other hand:
- We received a generous aid package (which will also deepen our military dependence on the Americans).
- Two aircraft carriers arrived in the area with the stated goal of preventing Hezbollah from attacking (but on the condition that we would not attack either. We agreed).
- "The cooperation was deepened" (that is, American representatives were screwed into our decision-making processes so that we do not decide anything that is not approved by them).
- We got a hug.
in brief:
Biden blocked any way to an unequivocal Israeli victory picture, something that would make it clear to our enemies that we are weak, and dependent on others. A historic visit indeed. He made an important contribution to tipping the balance of power in the region against us.
and for dessert:
No one said anything about the fact that yesterday, according to the nuclear agreement, the restrictions on Iran's ballistic missile program expired. How symbolic.

Caroline Glick, a well-known American-born Israeli conservative columnist, journalist, and author, who I got acquainted with while living in Israel by reading her editorials in The Jerusalem Post, agrees with Dr. Taub and adds much to his article in her show this week: https://www.jns.org/the-real-and-awful-reason-biden-is-coming-to-israel/
Even though Israel has already agreed to too much, LET'S PRAY that Israel will not capitulate to US pressure moving forward and do what she needs to do to secure her safety.
