(Another reflection on Day 1 of Fear Not)
"Do not be afraid" God told Abraham (Gen. 15:1). What if that was the first thing God said to you every morning before you started your day? Yes! I think He does! He sees us inside out and knows us better than we know ourselves. He knows our fears before we voice them! So why wouldn't He want to give us assurance that He's got every step, before we take them, covered with His peace, protection, and provision?
To know that He goes before me, laying out a well-planned stepping stone before I even think to take a step is a marvelous comfort!
But it still takes faith to make the step! When we know it's LOVE that goes before us, we should not be afraid!
"Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in You do I trust; cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You" (Psalm 143:8).
